I keep and have for years, amazon swords. for the most part they nibble on it and will pose problems with it when they haven't fully rooted- which becomes pretty frustrating to have to replant in some locations..
I just remembered it was the way some of the bigger ones in the tank would tell me they were not happy where it was or were hungry..
I have a giant Val in there too but they've been gnarring that one too- I see it more as a supplement of real food now more than it being a decoration. in the past I did well with anubias and java ferns
