So the Jag is a Falk and the Falks are Jags? And the difference between the 2 is dots on the tail?
Someone better get ahold of Oliver and tell him he's been selling Jags as Falkneri for over a decade now. I'm sure he'd love to be graced with some REAL knowledge.
Not sure if being an Aamapa (sp) variant has any thing to do with the success or if I just aquired it small enough, but sure has been working well. My wolf has been with rays since I got him 7 months ago. The wolf will go bonkers if a siphon, net, or anything goes in the tank, but I watch the rays pounce and push the wolf around at feeding time. Never once have I seen any aggression towards the rays. I'll see gill flaring towards me and even have a ray swim by at the same time and still no aggression towards the ray.
If you do a little digging you can find threads from a guy named Seichii. Those used to be the only confirmed Falk pics I could find and he housed wolves of many variations (mostly Aimara) with his back then. Between that and the youtube video of Boesemani being kept with 2 Aimara I figured it was worth a try if those people were willing to risk it.
If I'm doing tank maintainance the wolf will actually put himself between me and the rays as if he's protecting them. I'm sure it's just a coincidence but sure seems similar to the way a dog would protect its owner.
Now the next step will be to try other fish with the wolf and rays when they get moved to a larger tank here real soon.
