I wonder if your bichirs got the oscar first.

My 22" ornate kept on fallowing the oscar when I first placed it but I thought it was just curius. I dont think it's the other fish as all my other big fish such the snakeheads are all in my 700g tank as well as the aba aba. Only remaining are the gars, bichirs, ripsaw catfish, spiny eel, black drifwood catfish, megalodoras and leopard bushfish. The rest went to my 700g.

Do you think only one bichir did this to the oscar or did they all team up on him?
BTW sorry for the loss, looks like he was a nice one...

I dont think one bichir can take it down so Im sure all the big ones team up to take it down. Probably when one of the bichir triggered it. Probably got attracted by the long veiltail. Used to have 10" oscars before there too but no harm was done. I sold the oscar to deathsting and honda3000. So Im guessing it's the veiltail that attracted the bichirs to attacked.

No offense meant to anyone, but I think you may have put the oscar in there to get killed. You may not be aware of it consciously but from reading your account, I think there is a part of you that enjoys feeding your bichirs bigger and bigger fish. Just my opinion, Ive been wrong about things before. I dont see how anyone would dismiss a 22 inch bichir following a frilly 12 inch oscar as harmless curiosity.

Wow!!! Did you read my first post??? Oscar was meant to be as tankmate not fish food. Why would I feed a $60 fish that I bought.:screwy: Trying to play detective eh. Lol!

If I did use it as feeders in the first place I should have posted "feeders oscar" and took some vid. But why do you think I did not took vid as The oscar was meant to as TANKMATE. Anyone here would love to see a bichir deathrolling a large fish if I did use it as feeder.

If you've ever owned a poly before they are very curious fish I added some new plants to my tank and my Senegal went to go see what they were. They are inquisitve animals just as much as any cichlid IMO/IME.

Besides I'm pretty sure no one in they're right mind would spend $60 on a one time feeder, would you?
