Wow!!! Did you read my first post??? Oscar was meant to be as tankmate not fish food. Why would I feed a $60 fish that I bought.:screwy: Trying to play detective eh. Lol!

If I did use it as feeders in the first place I should have posted "feeders oscar" and took some vid. But why do you think I did not took vid as The oscar was meant to as TANKMATE. Anyone here would love to see a bichir deathrolling a large fish if I did use it as feeder.

I am of the opinion that it was subconscious. I think this comment is telling:

So Im guessing it's the veiltail that attracted the bichirs to attacked.

You put a 12 inch brightly colored lure in the tank and you only realize this after its been eaten, that doesnt make sense to me.

It must have slipped his mind that's all. I don't think anyone would subconsciously throw in $60 worth of oscar and not think it'd be safe.

You are probably right. I dont mean to accuse, just sharing my honest reaction. If I was out of line, I apologize. I am a fish amateur compared the the thread starter, but after all he mentioned using larger cichlids as feeders in the past.

I got 3x 8"+ leopard bushfish which are smaller than the oscar. Even have 7" snakeskin gouramis in there and they are not meant to be as feeders but tankmates. Why would I try to feed my bichirs a nice rare veiltail oscar which are hard to find. The midas cichlids that being feed before came from my friend who breeds midas cichlids. He got so much of them that he just offers them to any monster fish keepers here in BC. Any free fish food being offer is surely being taken by anyone. Monster fish food are expensive so why refuse free food. Anyone would have taken them right away. Not trying to offend you but feeders comes in many different species not just goldfish.

Of all the cichlid species I like oscars, pbass and ebjd. So dont accuse me of cichlid killer. I have 8x 4" ebjd in a 180g that I keeping.

Sorry for loss.
