Been a minute since I've registered but I'm pretty sure most forums abide by coppa
by having a radio button at registration that sais "ohhai, I'm 13+ promise"
Yes you can get parental permission legally but no one does it

Interesting useless information: The "Rule of Thumb" comes from a law
that is still on the books in the US SE (Virginia maybe?) that makes it illegal
to beat your wife with a stick larger in diameter than your thumb. It remains illegal.

the coppa thing was actually @ both sides.

coppa's the reason the poll doesn't go lower then 13
coppa's the reason you need to be 13 to join most sites

...and actually I believe to abide by coppa you need to fax in the permission... but no ones actually done that since the 90s

They actually don't have to send, or even approve, of anything. They are "encouraged" to do so.

Well if this was about silly laws, I decided to review the sex offenders in my area, and stumbled across an interesting statute here in Va. I knew that some sex acts are illegal, but I found it extremely odd that sex acts would be lumped together with beastiality. For an explanation, I'll let you read the statute - it's in the first couple of lines.

How can that be a felony? *not referring to animal part, that part is definitely worthy of a felony charge*
