oh really? should i put all the old water in the new tank and fill up the rest with new water while using the old filters?

ok got it guys. i appreciate all the good advice! im going to keep a close watch on these little guys until i have time to get them into a 40g.

yeah i would start filling up the tank with the water you take out during water changes from the 10g then fill rest with reg water and then put 10g filter on the 40 (or at least put the media from it into the bigger tank's filter) and if they have same substrate then put the substrate from the 10g in there as well, you may have mini cycle but just keep an eye on it and if anything get higher than it should be do a water change Good luck with them!

ahh alright, cool thanks!

when they get some size, they are going into a 100gal grow out tank becaues i know they are going to get way to big for it, therefore im going to upgrade again. :nilly:

can they injure each other just lip locking? i threw a new JD into my 60gal with my other JD and they both starting fighting and lip locking too. i see the skin on their lips are scapped up.

Keep a close eye on them. I can't say for sure without being there watching it myself, but it sounds like they are trying to establish a pecking order. Even watching it myself really means nothing, every fish is different.
