aggressive 125

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have a pair of Jags and a pair of Red Devils in my 125. They all grew up together and it remains a fairly peaceful tank even during breeding. The only thing is that I cannot keep a Pleco in there for more than a few hours, they started killing plecos as juvies.

I think that the green terror carpinte would be fine however I would choose only one from the following: grammodes, Salvini, Mota, & jag because of the similar shape they would probally either cross-breed or be overly agressive and will kill the other similar species over time. I currently own a female grammode and when I had her in my 125 gallon tank she eventually took out the salvini housed in a community setting. Both species(same size) are armed with large teeth and they know how to use them but in this case the grammode got the best of the salvini. good luck though.

go big or go home, you could have a bad mix with less fish and have it not work or you could put even more aggr. fish in there and it could work. or vice versa
like jeff rapps once told me he had a 125g years ago with amphilophus species, parachromis species, etc. and it all worked out
im about to order 15 very aggressive cichlids from fishfarm all at around one inch and put them in a 125g for a while, I hope it is a nice mix and works, and will be closely monitored if things start to go wrong.
