Aggressive discus. Anything I can do?

My turquoise discus is being very aggressive towards my yellow and white discus, he chases him around the tank and corners him up at the top of tank and won't even let him have food at points. The yellow and white discus is smaller but not much I'd say a half inch. Is there anything I can do?

Maybe showing dominance to other males maybe needs more discus to disperse the aggression

Discus should be kept in groups of at least six with a tank that is sized at about ten gallons per discus. What you are seeing is the exact kind of behavior that happens if you don't follow these guidelines. Being as sensitive as they are. The bully will eventually stress the other two to death, and it won't take long. There is not really anything you can do but try and add mor similar sized discus, and upgrade the tank size, if needed.

You have to remember that discus are cichlids. They have many of the same behavioral traits. More discus would help, but barring that, ensure that there is plenty of clearly defined territory, plenty of hiding places, and feed a good quality diet. Can I ask what you're feeding, and how often?

Dang it, I was hoping to read about Discus bullying a Red Devil or something :/ But yeah, like it was mentioned earlier,you need more Discus, at least 6

Sorry been been gone for a little. I feed my discus's blood worms and mysis shrimp. They seem to love it. There is also and angel fish but no one bothers him. The blue discus grew up in a tank with a peacock bass both as babies could this have somthing to do with it? ( peacock bass has since been moved to bigger home)

It really has nothing to do with it. The blue discus are typically more aggressive from what I have heard.

What size tank do you have?

Discus are extremely sensitive fish. They don't do well in small numbers, they don't do well in anything but near perfect water quality, and they don't do well with really active tankmates. Typically, their health will begin to decline if they are kept in poor water conditions or continually stressed. They will become stunted, which can't be undone, and then they will die. One of they ways they are continually stressed is by being kept in too small of a group. This is why six is the minimum recommended number to keep. We need to know how big your tank is, how much you do for water changes, and what the tankmates are so that we can make the best recommendations for you.
