AGGRESSIVE RED DEVIL

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Best bet is to at least get a divider for now, as long as your current situation is just temporary. They don't earn the name red DEVIL for nothing. Most people I know keep theirs in a single specimen tank because that's generally the only way it works.

You're back!!! :naughty:

You're weird for having noticed I was absent.

put a divider in. I had a 3" RD in a tank with my black rhom. that little fish would flare up at the Rhom like it was nothing. It had no idea what it was wanting to get itself into. I have 2 Rd's and they are not agressive at all at this time with the fish they are with in a 125g.

What your red devil is trying to say is, "Set me free! This tank is too small for me!" You can do your fish a major favor by finding a nice nearby lake, bond, creek or river and setting the little guy free. It's for the best. It is a decision that you will definitely not regret!

JUST KIDDING!!!

I'm having the same problem. I'm in the process of setting up a 225 gallon tank and the first fish I got was a nice baby Jag, then 2 baby GT's, A mexican tailspot, a Red Devil and a real nice Flowerhorn. All baby's. Less than 2" apiece. I'm keeping them in a 55 meantime. The Red Devil got really aggressive so I put him in an isolation tank about 5 gallons that hangs in the 55. I drilled holes in the 5 gallon myself so that he would be getting plenty of fresh water flow going in there. After a few days I thought maybe he got the idea and I released him back into the tank. My wife and I left for about an hour to go get some supper and we got back to find one of the GT's dead and the other one well on it's way to death. Both his eyes had been eaten out and he was badly beaten. The aggression continued for a few days, not as bad since the other at least can hold there own. Finally I put the Red Devil back in isolation. Once the 225 is a go, I am just going to let him have the 55 or maybe my 30 all to his self. What an aggressive bastard! He's a beautiful fish though. I guess he's what's known as the Tiger striped varient. He's got great black banding on a nice red and grey body. Beautiful fish. Already getting a Nuchal hump. I do have one question though... Why do they call them Green TERRORS when they seem to have about the same aggressive tendencies as say a... I don't know... Gold Ram?!

Actually as i was reading up to the just kidding i was thing what kind of :swear: moron typed this :swear: . I should go to his house and smash his :swear: computer with a baseball bat and take all his fish from him:headbang2 :clap :woot: .
Then i got to the just kidding and i was:ROFL: .
I have plans for a 180 in a cpl of months so as big as i can go for these guys will be a 120or so. The fish isnt hurting any of his tank mates just chasing them when he's not digging or eating. I left town for a week and a half and my cousin didnt do the water change he promised. so as soon as i get the water back together doing 20% changes every other day( i will add changing the decor around). I will be able to start working on the new tank (getting it for father's day). Getting my substrate bogwood soaked and rocks all clean and shiny:D , cycled and stocked :mwave:

Get a Buttakerforia(i think that is how it is spelled)it will make your Red Devil chill out.:WHOA:

YEA THATS WHAT I THOUGHT WHEN I GOT MY KOFRI THE GUY TOLD ME HE WAS RETURNED 3 TIMES CAUSE HE WAS TOO MUCH OF A BAD ASS IN OTHER PPL'S TANKS SO I FIGURED SURE ILL GIVE IT A SHOT THE SECOND I BUT THE FISH IN THE TANK HIS ASS GOT HANDED TO HIM FROM THE DEVIL AND TWO MONTHS LATER STILL IS
