At that size they may not have grown out of their extremely aggressive fry stage. If the problem continues, try separating them until they're 3 to 4 inches.(do they still have their external gills?)

He was between 7 and 8 inches when the heater stuck on and killed him and few other favorites(my first sen, zigzag eel, and 10 inch sailfin pleco). I'll never buy another Tetra heater. I know it can happen to any of them, but I've only had two heater failures and they were both Tetras. The knife and the sen were both hand feeders.

Oh that sucks man I'm so sorry.....:(

I had an agressive 6" sen picking on a 5" del. Rearraged the decor which helped a bit but didn't solve the problem. Added a 6" Palmas polli but the sen didn't change, so i removed him. Now the del occasionally makes a move at the palmas, but they're basically peaceful. Only thing is the palmas is ultra active (NON-STOP swimming) and the del is very reclusive and sometimes burrows in the sand.

Don't know how helpful that is, but it's a similar situation to draw some insight from...

thanks everybody for the help. i will just wait till they get bigger to put them together again.

In my opinion, the dels and palmas variants are usually more peaceful tankmates. They only get about half the size of most other polys too! However, as with all fish, it depends mostly on the individual.
