They are no more than 2 or 3 inches long.

I know. One of the plecos stayed kind of small because I had him in a unheated tank with goldfish, but he is growing now that I moved him to a warmer tank.

My preference is the bristlenose pleco which maxes out at about 6". Better for smaller tanks (100 gallon or less). They are excellent algae eaters.
