Agressive 7" Firemouth

Nice pair. I haven't had firemouths in a very long time. This thread makes me ask the question why that is. Might have to think about keeping some again. Nice video!

I think it's generally because the firemouth'es are considered beginner cichlids, that many people who have been in the game for a while stay away from them.
It's a shame really. They have loads of personality!
 
Amazing pair you have there - the male seems more aggressive towards you then his tankmates(pike & angelfish). You must be very proud of them!

I'm sure thats true in allot of cases, including my own. I also think, in some cases, that in learning about new species of fish and seeing how big and awesomely aggressive some can get we gravitate to them. This creates the need to move the smaller fish out for their safety, forgetting that the smaller, less aggressive fish are just as awesome in their own way.
