I hate hearing that all JDS, GTS etc are agressive. Because there spieces has a bard rep doesnt mean every one of that spieces is aggresive they are all individuals and i would like to know how many ppl agree with me.

Eg my JD is the least agressive fish iv owned inclueding guppies.

All fish have a unique temperment, a lot like people. Some are extremely docile whiles others kill anything. For example severums are stereotypically not that aggro but i have one that has been beating up everything lately and its pissing me off.

it depends on the fish

Yes aggression does very from fish to fish. For example I have a jag that is quite mellow. But still you never know one day they can just snap that aggression is still in their genes.

i just got rid of my female severum, she was laying eggs all the time, and would keep my other fish in a corner...:irked:

firemouths are a good example, people say they're aggressive, but i've kept them in a tetra tank. no problems.

I have one aggressive JD, and another one that is mellow. They are in separate tanks. I guess it all depends on each fish.

It just depends on the fish itself. Its like saying all pitbulls are terrible dogs. Some are mean of course but some are nice.. I have a male jd big guy, hes a bit brain dammaged from a soaping that happend a while back but hes always been nice. He is the dominate fish in the tank hes in, but hes a great dominate fish. He doesnt pick on fish a lot only just to show them hes boss. Nowhere near a mean fish. Hes even in a tank with 2 black calvus and the biggest one isnt bigger than 2 inches. my jds like 9inches

it all depends on the personality, for example, I've seen some jags and even RD that are pretty mild compared to their reputation, and you'll see fish that are normally placid have very aggressive individuals on occasion
