Has anyone had aggressive rays? I always thought that my 2 motoro rays were peaceful until I saw them corner my 5" tiger datnoid. They seemed to be working together keeping the dat cornered, trying to swim on top of him and pin him to the bottom . The dat managed to squirm out from underneath and scramble back to his PVC pipe.:nilly: This occurred right after a feeding of shrimp, so they may have been showing him who's boss. I guess the rays are called predators for a reason.

My dats are smart enough to hang out in the middle and upper levels of the tank. My spotted gar actually goes down to the bottom and sits on top of the rays. Most of the time I think he is spooning them LOL!

My rays will kill everything thats small and swimming. Doesnt matter if they can eat it, if not they just kill it anyways and start munching on it for hours. Its not real agressiveness i guess, just the need to feed. Must say that my CB motoros are kind of agressive towards the others when it comes to feeding. They are keen fish who will chase aqay others if they are in the way of their food.

I wouldnt call what my rays do as aggressive, just an extreme response to possbile food. I have a 12" gar and my biggest ray is just 10" yet the gar is constantly being pounced on by my rays when he rests on the bottom. Kinda funny actually. What really surprised me is that occasionally they pounce and actually get on top of my cichla! If anyone has kept cichla before, you know how fast they can be.

When I feed, my male will come 5-6" out of the water just sit there waiting for food! Water shoots out his spiracles and makes a mess. LoL So cool and I sure am going to miss him! :(

Wow, I guess my rays are just acting normal. I'd love to see my ray hanging out at the top like that, begging for food! It's really neat to interact with your pet like that, especially a fish. Tres cool.

most of the motoros i have had were pricks to most fish mainly my gars... my tigger ray before she passed was pretty nasty as well...
