Your Vieja is a blackbelt, I kept a lone Redhook with a bunch of larger filament barbs for years and he was just fine. When I put silver dollars with him he chased and tore f

Cool I'm glad I can house this redhook on his own im probably gonna keep him with the Oscar he's with but I'm not sure if I'll pick anything else up yet for that tank it looks so empty as is.

OK now on to the Vieja see I thought it was a blackbelt at first when I saw him in the store aswell but then looking at pictures online threw me because he doesn't look like any of the pics of black belts avaliable, I payed something like 30-35 for him labeled as a "Vieja cichlid" at 13 inches so I think that was a fair price I'm just wondering if he's a mix or something or maybe just one you don't see as often , look at this chart, he looks like he has a horizontal stripe coming from his tail up and his vertical "belt" is coming from the top instead of the bottom and he also has a different head shape idk when looking at this chart he looks almost like the one labeled Fenestratus or like he could be a mixture of a few fish. Lol I'm not a specialist on this but it was just my first analysis.
