Ah yes... Polypterus ansorgii get a maximum length of 11 inches. What?

This is the maximum size of Polypterus ansorgii according to Google:

I was just looking up some info on the ansorgii bichir when I came across this. All the other information seems right, but a maximum length of 28 cm is totally wrong.
28 inches would be much more accurate, but I have seen many wild-caught specimens even excide that size.

28cm=11 inches

Def not a typo,I doubt the writer has any experience with bichirs.They're use of common names messes up ids for beginners and they also result in this :
Not trying to be fpd ,but why?

There are 2 types of senegal bichirs. The more common one gets maybe 12", and the lake turkana version which does get to 23"+. The senegal from the Senegal River, sometimes referred to the Western Nile river, does touch the Nile river . To complicate matters more, P bichir is also called the Nile Bichir which gets beyond that size.

And I believe it was under 'what's the best beginner bichir''.Off to my lfs to get me a Pbb lol.

Regular wild sens hit 14"+ regularly. I have never heard of a 24" Turkana sen but it seems plausible. The physical difference between PBB and sens is pretty large and I have never heard the latter ever being referred to under any 'Nile' name. You usually see Turkana or Nigerian sens being exported.

While I don't support everything this guy is doing I will say that atleast he plans on getting a tank big enough for a full sized Sen. That being said however I am highly disappointed that he would even get this fish without having any other tank set up and waiting for it at all. Personally I've done almost this exact same thing, I'd buy a fish thinking I would have tank space later for it but that later just never came and I was always forced to re-home the fish at a later date. Honestly I think I would've been less upset about this vid if he had already had that spare tank he mentioned set up and waiting and all he was waiting on was the 75g instead of him trying to focus on another tank that is still far too small. Also it's not like Sen's are all that hard to come across, hell even chain stores sell em, so it's not like this would've been a situation of "get it now or get it never" so it's not like he couldn't have waited till he had a big enough tank first and then gotten the lil guy.
