ahh my 10 new exos. arent acting right.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If they are that active and just not eating then they are acclimating. This can take a fews weeks some times. Imagine how you would act if a giant came to your house in the middle of the day and scooped you up in a net. And dumped you in a bag and then took you on a drive full of bumps and turns. And then dumped you in a different home, with different suuroundings. You would be freaked out as well. They also might be establishing a pecking order which to there survival is more important than anything else.

give them some time eventually they'll come around. it took awhile for my shoal to be themselves again. now they attack everything i put in.good luck with them.

Any update on exo's? I have been looking into having my lfs pick me up a small shoal, and I am interested in how they are going for you. =)

well just in, one of the crickets in my breeder expired so i threw it in and did not see any action just yet (might be because i shook them up by accidentally dropping and slamming the cover on the tank while changing water). i usually feed them live baby crickets that they launch themselves at like howitzers, but when i feed them live bigger crickets i usually sit at watch to make sure they eat it and it wont escape or drown before then, but since this one was dead and they havent done anything, i went to bed.

this morning i went to check on them and they did eat it =). though i didnt get to see them do it, at least i know that they did which is a good sign. i cant wait till they get comfortable around me. they do relax and swim slowly at night.

get them, you will not be disappointed. when cared for properly, they will be the most active and interesting fish youve ever kept. i have a couple myself, and theyre awesome.
dont be afraid to shoot me a PM if you have any questions

hey did you get my pm? if u didnt i have 13 exos right now, started the shoal about 3 weeks ago at 7 exodons. 2 weeks ago raised it to 10, and just today i bought 3 more to make 13.

at 13, they are still very unagressive toward the swordtail tetras living with them... havent had any casualties since i initially bought the first 7... the next morning 2 swordtails where wasted on the bottom of the tank, and abosutely NO hostility since then (other than their natural chase-stop amongst themselves...)... now even more so, with 13 i have now, they go against the theory is more = more agressive right??

i do think i "broke" them all when i bought them... they were monsters at the store...

as far as buying them at the store goes, i concidered what the dog said about them having a leader or "bull" of the shoal that i may have left behind at the lfs and managed to get every big, shiny, scratchless exo in the lfs, i bought them out today... yet i think i "broke" their leader too cause the still do little to be monsters. always scared and never vigilant.

unless eating pinheads, they could care less about the big cricks... unless dead, cut inhalf, and im nowhere near them :irked:.

what have i done to them??? aparently every animal i take into my house i manage to retard it some how... an oscar with no aim... an anorexic migit 20 year old 6lb cat born without claws that meows every 5 seconds and bites you when you whistle... a frog that hopped into the un-covered vornado blades... and now my most expensive fish too... a shoal of friendly exodons... :(

and the two mice i owned when i was little...
