AHH MY FISH ARE GUNNA DIE?!?!?!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I wouldn't try using the heated water, because the fish have been somewhat slowly adapting to the cooler temp, and you would risk shocking them by rewarming too quickly.

When you get the heater, I would not increase the temp in the tank more than 2 degrees/day, so if it's still 68, start with the heater set at 70 and work up from there day by day unless they are showing stress before you start heating.

alright i will for sure do that. thanks a lot. hopefully i dont have any casualties. ohh and FYI i added two fish today, thats when i realized the heater was broken. so do u think they will have any problems since they are just being introduced to this cold water? i let the LFS bags float in the tank for about half an hour before i let them go to try to redice stress

68 isnt bad, they will be fine

You could wrap your tank with 1 or two thick blankets, i resorted to that in a similar situation and my tank got up to 78f

I did that the last time we had a power outage and it worked like a champ.. Too bad i lost 2 aro's, but i was due to lack of O2 not heat.. After 14 hours heat was still above 60...
