  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
thanks for the input but i dnt really care to hear any "of you need a 1000g pond for that" replies. its going in that tank for now and will upgrade when needed. the post was about what species not what everyone thought of the tank, iforget everyone has endless pockets and mulitple ponds.thanks

Nobody said that? You asked which would we prefer to keep and (if you read between the lines) the answer is simple; the one we can house. Look at any one of the large Aimara (20"+) on here and you'll see that most are kept in a minimum of 300g. Just because you can buy a 9" Aimara and watch it swim around in a 150g for six months, doesn't mean you should do it. As I've said elsewhere, I don't believe in this whole 'I'll buy it now and grow it out in what I have then worry about upgrading down the line' excuse. If you can house it in something bigger later, why not just bite the bullet and do it now. You'll see improved growth and a more active, healthy fish.

Ref our apparent endless pockets; How much is an Aimara in your neck of the woods? Last time I looked at the SA price list, even the small ones were almost $1,000. It seems ludicrous that you'd spend that kind of money on one, to keep it in something so small. But maybe that's just me.

As has been said, a curupira would be better suited. However, it wouldn't be the active, personable fish you want it to be in a 150g which surely defeats the objective?
