Air compressor for bubbles

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I wouldn't do it. My compressor spits out tiny amounts of oily water occasionally. Plus my wife would kill me when the compressor cycles on in the middle of the night!

I already have a regulator and a filter. I'm currently finishing my basement and it will include an aquarium room. I plan on having many tanks and breeding some of my fish. I am planning on using sponge filters in the breeding tanks so I need the air. I believe at the low pressure required it would take a long time to use enough air to cuase it to recycle. It only takes about 5mins for mine to replinish.

compressor air is not safe to breathe with out the proper filter

i would say the same applies to your fish......... with correct air filter its ok otherwise no.

these filters are used in spray paint booths to allow the painter fresh air to breath from the house air compressor

^ what he said... i would just order a blower designed for this application... search around online you can find them cheap.. l

and a 3am cycle wouldlnt be nice..

A blower sounds good I must have missed that. I thought there might be a better way. Thats why I ran through here first. Thanks for all the input I'll research the blower.

Drfostersmith sells the blowers and so does aquatic eco and jehmco.... but if you search around ebay aquabid etc... you can find them really cheap...

yeah man thats not the same compresor that scuba divers use to fill tanks man theres are oil less soo there is no chance of oil in the air for them. im assuming ur using one thats like a normal automotive mechanics compresor ? i wouldent dare try that being oil and condesation builds up in the things not to say rust and dirt and evreything else.
