Hey guys I'm going to be running a fluidized bed in the center chamber of a sump which is going to be roughly 21 gallons(34.5x13x18) I plan on having an air stone/diffuser on each end of the chamber. I was thinking 2 12 inch diffusers one on each end. They will be circulating 75 liters of kaldness. Can anyone recommend a good stone/diffuser that can push enough air to circulate the media. I will be running an AP 100 pump with a 2way gang valve to regulate even flow to both ends of the chamber. Thanks in advance

Hydrogarden I believe it is has the 10" round cintered glass stones.

IF you're looking for 12" bars I'd go sweet water cintered glass diffusers from Aquatic Ecosystems.

Do those 12" sintered glass diffusers blow pretty strong? I here not being able to properly fluidize the media because weak flow

For fluidized bed filter you need strong airpump. That sintered glass difuzer will work fine. Media must dance in filter... :D

IF you use PVC there's no back pressure. Plan on replacing diaphragms more often. Even with sintered glass diffusers you'll still need to rebuild about every year. Make sure you keep rebuild kits on hand.

What is your suggestion for fluidizing the bed? And how can pvc be hooked to the air pump

Suggestion for fluidizing the bed? Air and diffusers.

How can PVC be hooked to the pump? A hose.

This isn't rocket surgery. Experiment and do whatever works for you.

I already advised against PVC as it blows the diapgragms out faster. Still works but you will need to rebuild the pump more often.

Thanks for the advice. I understand the hose will push air to the pvc what I'm wondering is how the hose connects to the pvc
