Lol I agree there too...also, the africans he gets in always seem to be really low quality. I would even say that petsmart probably gets nicer stuff and for cheaper. Daveys has much better quality africans too. I'm not sure why he doesn't get a different supplier or something. I've ordered fish off of aquabid that were a fraction of the price and way better quality.

I also just wanted to say that I'm not trying to bash any particular store, just stating my opinions. I can only imagine how hard it is to run a fish store in this economy and I'm glad we have any locally to begin with.

Oh I agree and I am not bashing Eddie or anyone it's the truth eddies was better then daveys for a while but ten went down hill raising his prices and getting in low quality fish I would like to see some more selection out of the cichlid section for the the south and central American cichlids daveys is bad for pricing sometime too so every fish store has it good things and bad things.

Hey by the way you interested in a 5-6 F1 lyonsi from Gage out of Florida I am willing to sell or trade or if you know anyone wanting one let me know here's a picture of her ImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1347220980.883829.jpg

That is very interesting...I was wondering where they got their stock. If I opened a lfs I would probably just buy from auctions and other hobbyists and get the common stuff from the bigger companies. There are so many cool things for sale on the classifieds here and other sites at any given time and with the prices they charge they should have no problems making a nice profit on just about anything.

Lastly, I know its a weird question but have either of you ever seen a datnoid of any type at either store? I'm not really looking for one but I just found it odd that I've never seen one personally in the area.

To be honest I've never had a single SA cichlid except for an oscar when I was younger. I really know next to nothing about them so I don't think I would be the best owner haha. It is a very nice looking fish though... Just to give you an idea of my stock, I'm currently I'm just keeping a colony of kitumba purple frontosa, several large clown loaches and a bunch of different catfish...some small, some not so small.

I've been looking for some rare(well pretty much anything but a rtc or tsn lol) big catfish though and I would love if anyone would give me a shout if they see any cool catfish locally. I know they are super common(and not the most popular fish) but I've been looking for an albino channel catfish for a while now and can't seem to find them anywhere. I remember eddies had some this year but I didn't get on at the time.

Is there anything that anyone else is on the lookout for? Just looking for another excuse to go look at fish;)

I wonder why that is? I never even knew they existed til I joined this site. Maybe its a good thing though since they would probably charge like $100 for a 3 inch IT if they ever got one in.
