Stopped in the petsupermart today - I normally avoid it, since the smell of dogfood makes me wanna puke, and the dog food is right up at the front of the store.

Anyway, in the ubiquitous "mixed africans" tank there were some albinos, or at least I believe they are. All white, pink eyes. Anyway, any ideas as to what they really may be? The body shape and behaviour was very similar to the yellow labs in the same tank.

There are a good number of albino africans these days

There are also albino auratus and peacocks and others at petsmarts too.

Hrm... so its not like the bichir world where 99% of albinos you find are the same species...

I think I'll pass on them then, since the wife doesn't like white fish. May get a bigger tank at work and try to keep a few with Edgar, my albino bichir :)

The albinos in our petsmarts are usually 1 of 3 types albino zebra mixes, greshakei, or socolofi

in my opinion the greshakei albinos can look very stunning when full grown. The others are just white fish.

few non hybrid peacocks and they look amazing

Yah for a few weeks at home, then they likely loose all there color since most are hormoned.

You should have seen the amazing color that I just saw today. .5-1 inch peacocks, I think eureka reds. Looked more colorful than many 4-5inchers I have seen. Of course they already appeared oddly shaped and had some extremely long fins...
