Albino and pink peacock breed!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ya, don't worry about the female eating the eggs. If she does, don't worry; once they start breeding, you can expect a batch once a month.

Like the others have said, wait a couple weeks for the eggs to hatch, then strip the female once the fry are of good size (you can see em a bit when the mother opens her mouth).

Good luck and welcome to fish husbandry ! :headbang2

yeah, with that big of a grow out, i would just put the female in there and let her release them on her time, if she is less stressed, she will be less apt to spit or eat them.

It is not husbandry when they are hybrids... Seriously all, I love flower horns, and well aware the hybrids have a place in the hobby. I am big supporter and understand and dislike when people bash hybrids and people who breed them, but we have to remember to be responsible with these fish. If you want raise peacocks get a group going and try spawning a single species. It is not husbandry when you mix fish and they accidently breed. You have to work at it. It is husbandry when it is done with purpose.

that mike dude is right.let her in her tank.i know your excited like i was the first time my fish bred.but seriously,if you want fish worth any type of money or bragging rights get a specific species.they WILL breed.they always do.atleast that way you can get rid of the fry proudly and assure them a good home.g/l
