...looks like Hemibargus nemurus from what I can see. Better pics would help. The adipose, dorsal and pectoral fins, plus eye placement appear to be the same.

I agree. I've had a few artc's and it looks pretty similar from what I can see in the pic's.

So sorry thought this thread was dead lol been awhile . He has 8 total whiskers 1 set on his nose area 2 sets on the side and 1 set on the bottom . On a side note hes a great fish so far hides onder a rock and eats like a pig

Im really bad about impulse purchasing :nilly: hes just so cool looking and a really interesting fish but i hear these guys turn into killers , anyone here ever kept one for long ? any truth to that statement? thanks in advance

def. not a channel! albino asian redtail for sure! bottom finnage of a gold channel is different! i have had mine since march, it has grown about 4 inches since ive had him. these fish should be kept alone or with more aggressive fish. but you also dont want to keep them with something too aggressive, due to the fact that they have skin and not scales so they are not protected as much as other fish. i have mine with a crenicichla sveni a striped raph. cat. an 11" midas and a crenicichla sp. belly crawler. he does his fair of chasing but he also gets chased! just keep them in check! cool fish. i got mine for 5 bucks. i also bought it from the store i worked at so i gave myself a "SPECIAL" price. it was suppose to be $19.99. nice pick up and enjoy.

Sorry this i sgetting old. Ille make my own if i get no replies. I just got what i think is an albino wickii but thought i better make sure. Dont red tails have straight v tails and wickiis have the streamer having on the top of theres??? thats what it seems like anyway. I would of thought all you catfish guys would of said that already though.
