And most feeders have those disease... Because most LFS don't took much care of the feeders they're selling and always keep them crowded and that will stress the feeders a lot... and make them more prone from diseases...
But I guess its better to be safe then sorry... The LFS at my house looks very neat and tidy. So I didnt thought about the problems about dieases, and I last checked there are no dead shrimps in the shop so I didnt bother much...
and 1 more important note... I read in the arowana forums that sharp pointy parts of the shrimps can tear stomachs, now I am getting more and more frustrated =x
If you are using shrimps, as far as I know They don't carry disease for you to be threatened... Only feeder fish like silversides and feeder goldfish...
:WTF: My ghost shrimps are cannibalising on each other even though I feed them shrimp sticks! Now all the more I dont know if my albinos are eating the shrimps or they are just feeding of each other
For such small polys I would just feed them a good quality sinking carnivore (meaty) pellet. Seeing as they are farm raised they should eat them with no problems.
As far as watching them actually eat goes, well, just wait until they are bigger. You will see them eat in time. Just be patient.
Wow how has no one told u that:
Your bichirs should not eat feeders
You should not use a pelleted substrate
You should not be feeding catfish as feeders
You Should not be keeping bichirs in a 2ft tank
