They CAN get 3 feet, only have seen this in a pond, but usually top out at 25" or so after 4 years. A 180 is MIN tank you can use

I'm guessing you are replying to my post in the other thread, clowns keep growing after 4 years not sure when they stop but they can achieve close to 3 ft sizes if given enough time.

no, just from what i have read and the info i have gotten from other people. TLK had his clown in his pond for 3 years and it was over 3 feet. It all depends on what you keep him i think.

I was wondering, does anybody elses knifes thrash the top of the water? I don't have a top on the tank right now and there is water ALL OVER the walls from them slapping the water with thir tails. Is it just my 2 knifes or does anyone elses do this? I noticed that both knifes started doing it at around 12-14"

You stated you don't have a top on the tank???????? I'd be really careful that nothing spooks them cause they WILL jump. That could make some catasrophic fish jerky. Dunno bout breeding them tho. Keep us posted tho, I'd be really interested to see some pics of that.
