Albino Delhezi?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Here are some Platinum Delhezi and an Albino upper jaw that was caught in the wild, not sure of species though.
So far I haven't seen an albino del. If Hao Hao hasn't seen one I defiantly haven't
Also I remered this Albino/xanthic upper jaw as well

I'd say you're a bit of an outlier but meh, everybody is different. Enjoy your smurf poodle.
It’s an intriguing advancement in genetics that imo hasn’t gotten the attention it deserves. I love natural fish and I don’t think nature needs any improvement. My Congo tetra, Odessa barbs, guppies, koi, rainbows, polys etc are gorgeous and I’m totally happy with them.
But the possibilities are interesting. An electric blue Maine coon? A black and red zebra pleco? Or even, as has already been done with crops, perhaps a zebra plec that is more hardy, and easier to breed? This of course needs to be done responsibly. But I don’t think we should shy away from a branch of science just because it seems alien. But we should, of course, approach it slowly, carefully, and responsibly. Glofish is probably only in it for the money tbh and I’m not down with that. But I’d be interested to see where the technology is headed.

Gah I want one. My dels have grown up over the past year, currently at around ten inches, and I’d love a little variety. But honestly I’m completely happy with them as is. 8A19A0C7-02E0-474B-A50C-14B98C3BBFE1.png

The day that company makes bichirs glow is when bichir keepers rise up and storm their headquarters. At least that's what I think would happen.
J jaws7777 your thoughts on a glowing bichir?
Definitely calls for storming the headquarters!!!

Im sure they exist though.

I am neither Hao or Vancouver, but yes I have seen platinum dels and an albino del. I've also seen in person platinum WC endli, platinum ornate, and albino palmas to name a few... lol. The albino del did go to China BTW. Interestingly I've only seen these as juvies, with the exception of the platinum WC endli which was adult size. I think many of these don't make it into adulthood.

I have seen a few leucistic or platinum dels for sale outside of the US.

Have not seen an albino, but I'm sure they do exist. Assuming CB, I wonder if the survival rate of an albino del or endli would be as favorable as an albino sen? I'd imagine getting a true albino would require a lot of inbreeding potentially resulting in "undesirable" or harmful defects....or there is not as large of a large market demand for it, especially compared to platinum? idk.

As far as genetic engineering is concerned, I personally do not believe we should be using technology to produce organisms for materialistic purposes or human entertainment. I am in favor of using it to help fish be more resilient though!
