Albino Leopard No Markings

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think Jexnell Jexnell had an Oscar like yours with few markings that colored up real nice as it grew. One of the better looking ones I’ve seen. Maybe he’ll post a pic.

Also, FINWIN FINWIN has a lot of experience with oscar

As others have mentioned Oscar's change drastically as they grow.
My girl Toni is a fine example of that. When I got her she had about six dots or so on each side. Her eyes were red so I believed she was an albino. 20170605_181541.jpg
And then she started growing...

As she grew more orange showed up and her eyes went black20170918_121122.jpg
Shortly after this picture I belive is when I started feeding her freeze dried krill. That's when she got an orange explosion. 20171111_110747.jpg20171212_172223.jpg20180319_005251.jpg
And this was her at roughly 12inches 20180830_172226.jpg

I have seen it many times here with others Oscar's. As they grow thier looks change. Wait it out and see what you get.
You can help the orange by feeding freeze dried krill.

It's true, they change. My oscar Brick started out as dark copper with a black head then morphed into bright orange with dark fins. He went on a brief phase of firecracker red with white fins before changing into a "peppercorn" red orange with dark fins again. Then he went partially sooty again with dark fins before finally going tomato red with white/black speckles and dark fins.

Proverbial question, i have 2 oscars in my 8ft, one 5inch one 6inch, and i have 2 x little ones in a 4ft i am growing on. I would of course like to have all 4 in the main tank and get the feeling they might accept eachother more if grown on together. That said, i dont want my little ones (approx 2inch) being eaten. I have provided line of sight cover throughout and a large (2x2x1.5ft) piece of bogwood on the left and right side. At what stage would you all attempt cohabitation?

Most would consider you lucky to find a snow white Oscar for the price of an albino leopard.
I do indeed, its the prettiest fish in there by far, in hoping my lemons color up well as i feel that it will make a nice mix in the tank, that is if i can work out how to add them without them becoming lunch anyway ;-)

I'd say 6-7 inches for the pee wees. The way oscars grow that shouldn't take long.
