Why do you think it cause ray is hybrid? In fact the pure leo batmam I have has real small eyes so really dont think has anything to do with ray being hybrid.

Interesting to know. Given this information, I am then deducing a connection between eye development and the last stage of disc formation.

Do we know if small eyes are a common feature on Batmans?

with any animal its down to quality of life if it should be culled or not

im pretty sure one of the members here has a bagarius yarrelli with no eyes that lives a normal life. do rays have very good sense of smell or anything like that?

This is sad.... but i think the ray will survive without its eyes. It should still be able to sence,taste,feel for its food, and still function normally without its eyes. So i feel it doesnt really need to be culled because of that. On the other hand, if the ray is simply struggling to stay alive, i would cull it. But its not a trait that should be sought after, or this ray allowed to breed with others in case theres some gene mutation or something that can be inherited that may have caused this.

Aside from there natural senses like ours, they also have electro receptors within their discs. Which in itself will be lacking in any batman given the reduced surface area of thier discs...

if it feeds fine, seems happy then i see no reason to cull it. if it constantly swims into things and causes its self harm then culling may be needed.
it should NEVER be bred from.

you wouldent kill someone just cause there blind. as said before its all about quality of life.

thats sad... i would try to keep it alive but wuld never promote hybridization in rays if it leads to thier suffering
