Wow, thats really cool! I think Rapps had one up not too long ago. I would love to have a lungfish! Are they compatable with other large cichlid type fish? like Trimaculatus? Just curious?...
No. Lungfish do not go well with aggressive fish, the lungfish either gets bullied excesively, or the lungfish takes a fatal bite out of tankmates.

from what im reading they live from va to florida on the east coast. i never new this. anyone no anything bout these :feedback:
Amphiuma are actually amphibians not fish or lungfish in that matter. I believe Harold from Rare Aqua might be able to get them. I remember him bringing them up not too long ago. Hit him or Wes up! I heard they have REAL nasty temperments. The only true lungfishes are as follows...

Africa:
Protopterus Annectens (Common)
Protopterus Aethiopicus
Protopterus Dolloi
Protopterus Amphibius

South America:
Lepidosiren paradoxa

Australia:
Neoceratodus forsteri

N. Fosteri and P. Amphibius being the most rare.

Peace!

how is it thats its not a real lung fish. arent they all related one way or another to salamanders and such? They all breath air with internal bladders right? Ive never had one befor thats why im asking these stupid questions. I did a search for neos lung fish and found a site that classafied all the lung fishs documented and the three types in the usa were listed as bein one.

Extra: Lungfish-looking Amphiuma is an amphibian
Amphiuma

Amphiumidae
A genus of Amphiuma is known in the continent of North America. Its body shape is similar to an eel, with tiny limbs. There are three-toed and two-toad varieties of both front and hind feet. This distinguishes them from other tailed animals ( four-toed for front, five toed- for hind feet). Amphiuma can grow close to 1m. Neo Kotobuki has two-toed Amphiuma. They become aggressive as they mature, and can bite you. Its characteristic big mouth is lined with tiny thorn like teeth, unlike lungfish's.
