hi . im hopefully getting an albino polyp / bichir senagalus in the near future and would like any helpfull info on keeping it happy .

any special requirements.

ive read that they are slow feeders and to make sure they get their fair share ?

also - do they shed their skin like snakes ? ( could be a daft question i know - so go easy )

many thanks.

Gary.

they are awesome fish. what size tank do you have to put it in? what size are you getting him at?

they aren't the quickest of feeders, but when they fine food they want, they'll get it!

no they don't shed their skin lol.

you'll love the little guy.

thanks for the info guys.

i received them last night . could have done with a couple more days to prepare really .

they are much smaller than i expected so the cant go in the 4' tank that i wanted them in .

they are only about 3" long each .

got them eating blood worm strait away . was a little concerned about one for a while but he soon got over it and started eating . they are both very skinny .

kept them in a big tank in a couple of traps to keep an eye on them and one of them is a hoodini little bugger . kept getting out even after i put a net over the top.

took some pics but havnt had time to do anything with them .

thanks for the info .

gary.

wicked, enjoy your new polys :D I just got a baby albino on Sunday as well, started eating floating pellets almost instantly, that made me happy since my ornate will only eat market seafood

My Edgar I've had for over a year now, he's been living on a staple diet of shrimp pellets with the occasional guppy fry, ghost/grass shrimp, or red wiggler (type of worm) as a treat...

nice fishes
my senegal is currently on bloodworms
i am trying to train it to go for floating pellets maybe i will start with the sinking ones first =)

thats news to me I have a senegal in a tank with 2 delhezis and an endi with no problems.Where did ou hear this?

gary.

trap? like on the tank bottom?
they breathe air so should have access to the water surface at all times.
