Albino Senegal bichir not growing?

Several months ago, i bought two albino senegal bichirs. They were around the same size. They measured at about 3". Now, months later, one of the two is 7 inches, the the other is only 3.5". Is there any reason why one is growing so much slower? The larger one is nearly big enough to eat the smaller one at this point. I know the smaller one is eating. Its normally the first one to the food.

could be gender? internal issues. maybe it spent a long time is a small holding tank at the pet store and the other one was newer to the store.

Could be a short-bodied one. Does it grow thicker?

yup top pic looks like a sort bodied bichir. they definitely don't grow big. I've had my 5 inch albino for a solid year and all it grew was two friggin inches!!!! and i'm 100% sure it's not a SBed one.

How can you tell that it's short bodied?
