Interesting I wasn't aware that they came in a short body variety, I wonder if they are just as hardy as the regular length? Thanks for the pics and info, what did you mean by weird pattern?

below is CDM's short body albino senegal. and you can see the scales in the middle toward the back is misaligned. as i said only happens occasionally, but seems to be more likely on a short body.

Frankly, I can't see any differences in those pictures besides that the so-called 'short-body' ones are fatter. I bought mine locally here, I have to just believe they are real short bodies.

my albino senegal is pretty fat, she's about 5'' now, but she stays fat like that, none of my other bichirs are that fat, she's fatter than the 10'' senegals ive got

ugh, those bichirs look naaaaasty, and most of the short bodys look like albinos, I dont think this is gonna be good for the captive gene pool, bad times may be ahead, its so sad what we do to fish, no bichir should be that fat, very unhealthy, for any fish for that matter

ugh, those bichirs look naaaaasty...
beauty is in the eye of the bichir holder.

we are still talking about fish, right?
