where the corruption never ends
After 2 weeks of depression of losing jar arowanas with unknown causes and with good water parameters, I've finally bought one which is a 9-11" which is now placed in my 50 gal this time (different from the other 3-5" which were placed in a 20 gal) for the meantime and planning to place him with my 2 3-4" senegalus bichirs but upon visual examination, there is a 75/25 guess that it won't work well because of the size difference. Take that aside, I would still like to push through with the idea but I don't know if the senegalus bichirs can catch up with the growth of the jar in 2 or 3 months... Now what I want to know is what is the growth rate of senegal bichirs (my google skills aren't good enough and there's no thread about it :()? does being an albino have an effect on their growth rate and max size? and if there is a good chance that I could catch their length or make them grow faster than my jar, what are the things I needed to do?

My jars grown much much faster rate than my birchir but for some reason he leaves him alone he could easily eat him and has had him in his mouth once competing for a prawn , he just let go of him , as long as they've got a pipe to go in that the aro can't fit in they be fine till they grow

What could be good foods to feed them at that size to make them grow faster? I'm currently feeding them sinking pellets and hikari foodsticks which is really preferred by the first guy and eats without a mess and put in some growth enhancing med called "Angel Vita Supergrowth" (which I don't know if it exists in your place)

That jar is going to eat that poor worm of a bichir. Albino bichirs bearly grow so once the jar hits a size that it could swallow that bichir, it'll take that chance. Jardinis are the most aggresive of all arowana species.

@Lix.ma14 so I guess, there is no chance the jar would get along with them :( I fell inlove with those bichirs though. They're so cute (for me :))) and have been eating like pigs since the first 20min they were introduced in their 20 gallon temporary home.

Mine eat prawns , sinking pellets and hikari but there's a lot of comp for food in my tank so its hard to grow them up quick , mines grown about 4" in a yr and the aro is double that growth rate easily

But may I know what their average growth rate is?

in my experience, i've kept an albino sen for 1 and a half years. I got him at 3 inches and when it died, it was only 4 inches and very fat. My other bichirs out grew my albino and killed it.

You can keep a lower jaw bichir species with jardinis. you need to upgrade before anything is done.

Wow, that's hell lot of slower compared to the growth rate of jars :|. I guess I'll be keeping them from harms way and settle them in the 50 gallons for good once I have my jar moved up to my 100 gal.
