First off.. who even breeds spilotes in the first place? I think captive breeding is fairly rare. I have nothing against Ben S. reptiles, but that's a little extreme with the pricing.

It's actually not that hard......Its just the fact that A) Spilotes aren't that popular, and B) Incubation isn't like other snakes......

As far as pricing....huh?.....

My good friends at PrimaReptilia have been breeding them for many years. IMO they are highly under-rated snakes...I've always enjoyed playing with the ones they produce.

what he is saying is that $10000 is way too high for a wild caught snake that is fairly common- even if it is albino. And I agree with him, no snake should cost that much, it's crazy.

As far as Spilotes go, they are pretty snakes but they are a pain in the ass to keep. Big, mean, biting machines (not to mention the ungodly amount that they poop).

Way too high according to who? How many Albinos Spilotes have you been around?

Demand dictates supply - Supply is this case is one animal, and I know for sure demand is high - I'm sure the Japanese are all over that one......

I'm all for keeping markets as strong as they can be.......And I know that if I want something on that level, I need to have the buying power to do so......

Rarity comes with a price, whether its a lack of melanin, or a first in captivity.......
