so i was thinking of putting empty bottles in my aquarium, but i don't know how it will effect my water quality. has any body ever done this before? do i have to worry about the adhessive on the outside? the alcohol inside? both?

PS- i was specifically thinking of bicardi which is a rum

Get bottles that don't have labels but are etched or painted and clean them before they go in the tank.

me and my cousin took one of his bottles of grey goose and drilled a hole in the bottom, now it has bubbles coming out of it

Boil it for 10 minutes. Remove any residual glue or labels.

I've used bottles of patron, jonny walker gold and blue, and crown.

The danger in using empty liquor bottles to decorate your tank is that it may cause your fish to think you're a d-bag with poor taste. NOTE: I'm not insulting anyone personally, I'm strictly talking about the opinion of the fish. I happen to think it looks very elegant.

I've put liquor bottles in a few set ups... I rinsed them thoroughly with hot water and put them in...

You can boil them and peel labels and wash the glue off if you want. It isn't necessary but makes some people feel better...

Below is a bottle of Jimmy Hendrix Vodka that spent a couple years in an aquarium. It has a plastic label stuck on by glue. Even after a couple of years under water the label is still stuck on as well as it was the day I put it in the tank...
