algae based filter?

in the filtration 101 sticky it mentions the "algae based" filter systems. I was wondering if anyone knew the names of companies that manufactured them?

As far as i know they are all DIY or custom built. do a search on algae filter on here and see what happens.

Well i searched for ya and found nothing. I went back 7 pages. --------------I do remember see someone on here make a algae filter a few months back. It was a peice of plexi with water running down it that grew loads of algae on it. If I remember correctly it worked for lowering nitrates and stopped algae growth inside the tank.
