I used to have a pair of giant red-lines before the ban. This is the ONLY thing I could use to scrape algae that they didn't rip apart:

Those things are still cute, you can still put your hand in there w/out fear....Once they get to the 16-18" mark then I would tread lightly, but usually if they are well fed they won't bother you, they seem to know their owner well.....I have had several Red Snakeheads and have yet to be bitten, thank goodness... I know someone who was bitten by a 14" still a baby by SH accounts, and it did quite a number on him....

I have the magnetic scraper. The one I have the scrubber in the tank floats when not stuck to the base and the mannets are strong enough to pull it back into place from a few inches away. I taught my 6 year old how to use it so he maintains the glass surface now
