Algae Eater for 180 Gallon Acrylic

Great tank. Would love to see picture updates. My favorite for algae is an albino bristlenose pleco. They do poop a lot, but looking at your pic, the water circulation and overflow will manage the algae-aesthetics. The bio load in the sump will have two be managed, but that algae will be taken care of :). If you get a pair, they'll spawn in the terra cotta spikes and you'll have precious little baby plecos to enjoy.

Here are some pictures I just took. I am turning over the water about 4x an hour. I have a lot of mechanical filtration and a large biological chamber with 15lbs of various ceramic rings and some pot scrubbies.

I also have a large piece of wood that I am moving from a different tank over to this one. It is in the QT waiting for some new arrivals.

Given the size of the tank and that you have experience with and like the ottos, how a bout a big group of giant ottos?

I bought 3 Albino BN plecos. Man are they small! I have them in a 10 gallon QT for the next month I think. Well see how much they grow before throwing them in the big tank.

On a side note, looking at Aquabid, man do I wish I bought these there. I had more choices at a better price including shipping (I paid $40 for 3 1" plecos). Anyone have a warning as I plan to buy my next fish through that auction site?

Just stumbled across this thread and noticed the "Murphy" sticker on the sump.

Aquarium Co-Op was one of the first YouTube channels I started watching. The sump is modeled after Cory's 125 Gallon sump. Most of the plants and the lights were ordered from there as well.
