Yep same with nerites, tis why I asked what kind you saw. hair/staghorn and other stringy ones are hard, i think maybe flag fish and mollies(don't remember, one of those cheap live bearers) will munch on it. I've heard great things about flag fish, though I've never owned one, they get too big.

There is a chinese dwarf shrimp that care of hair algae real well... I'll see if i can find a pic of one...

Common algae eaters to name a few are Bristlenose plecos, Siamese algae eater, Rosy Barbs, Flagfish, Chinese algae eater(mean tank mate though). But like all fish, they rather eat fish food instead if there is a choice.

So far the one oto catfish I have is having a field day on my plants.

nice! they're fun, i just wish they grew a bit bigger so I could keep them in my more "angry" tanks. they'd hardly be a snack. They starve easily btw, so either encourage some algae growth or be sure to toss them some wafers. Mine love cucumber/zucchini, whatever's cheapest at the market!

Here is the shrimp i was talking about before... BEST ALGAE EATER EVER...

I've never owned or seen any other invert or fish take care of algae as quickly or efficiently as these guys... will even eat Hair Algae...

They like to eat plants also. :( larger water changes.

Really? I've never had problems with them eating plants in any of my tanks...

And yes, that invert rocks... Not much to look at but hardest workers i've ever kept...
