HAIR algae everywhere there was some algae in the tank prior to me leaving the lights on but nothing like this. I really cant figure out where it cam from or why I haven't checked my nitrates recently but I do about 40% water change weekly and I recently replaced my carbon and cleaned my filter (about a week ago), Im running an AC70 on a 40 breeder that is some what understocked tho the few fish I have in there can make a mess but they weren't even being fed while I was gone. How did this happen and what do I do now?

i think id cry if that happened to my tank lol

I really want to, Ive been pulling it off and for some reason it smells like dirt I hate it

youve got more of an issue than just light... check yer tank and your tap water.. make sure you are checking the nitrate levels...

throw in a pleco :) he will have a feast!

there are 2 plecos in there and neither of them are eating it

If hair algae had intelligence it would take over the world. A friend of mine gave me some hygrophila once with hair algae on it. It took me forever to get rid of it.

get alot of algae eating fish and i mean ALOT!
