Its not a t5 or a t8 light ill check exactly what it is in a minute...when you say trim damaged parts does that mean I have to remove the leaves with the bba on it?? I would hate to do that it took forever to get my anubias leaves that big...its in my living room but no direct sunlight...I appreciate all the help...my living room tank looks ugly with that nasty looking algae

Direct and indirect light can both effect it. If the room is quite brite or if its bright enough combined with your lights on ot can make it an issue.

Any leaf or part of the plant that has bba attached to it will be damaged. It basically eats away at the plant and it will not regenerate. Trimming it off is really the only true way to also help it from spreading along with dosing excel and increasing co2 if you have co2.

I would dose til under control then use it for up keep dosing. Your plants will like it as well.

I use to use excel when I had other plants and it seems like they grow dependant on it cause once I missed a few dosages they started dying...I bought these low maintenance plants so all I thought I would need is clean water and light...I still have some excel but a little skeptical about it...I did prune all leaves on all plants that was infected by the bba

Be careful when scrapping algae off your plants. I did that once and ended up having to just cut off most of the leaves because I guess I scrapped so hard that the leaves became transulcent. What other plants do you have in there? I find that Anubias, Java Ferns, and even Water Wisteria don't need that much light. I leave my lights on a 4 hour timer and all the plants are doing great.

I just removed the leaves with bba on them...I have 4 amazon swords with about 30 leaves on it...7 anubias plants...1 large jave fern still in pot so it might be 2 or 3...and a red wendth
