I am getting this little black spots in quite a few places on the texas holey rock in my aquarium. I am worried that it might be the start of black beard algae or possibly cyanobacteria. My camera was about to die so I got some real quick pictures, I can get better ones if needed, can anyone tell me what this is?

By the way it is a 75 gallon with 2 ac110's & 2 xp3's. There are no live plants, nitrates never get over 20, and the phosphates are 0.

you said no plants, i wonder if that would help the cycle of everything. or is that a dumb idea. I noticed that more brown algae grew in my tank when i took the plants out

I am not really worried about the brown algae, its all starting to turn green an looks pretty cool on the holey rock. I am worried about the black spots and what those are. I tried some live plants once and my african cichlids destroyed them.
