algae killer and peacock bass

if i am not mistaken i think snails can eat algae off of sand!

but if you use barley straw then you can just wait for the algae to die! also you could take all the sand out! andtry cleaning it! by putting it in a bucket and swishing it roun a lot! make the water cold!(in the bucket not the tank!)

try making a lot more water changes trying to get out any high amounts of nitirites nitrates!
 
As I stated in the other thread you started about this topic, you should search diatom/brown algae and you'll find all the causes/fixes other people have found/used when dealing with this stuff in the past. I personally searched for information about it when two of my tanks that had been either recently set-up or heavily disturbed became covered with it. I decided to research the topic a little bit before doing anything drastic and before I got around to doing anything at all, it cleared up in both tanks. It was there for a week or so and then just vanished on its own and hasn't come back since. I know that brown algae is unsightly but you might want to just try some good sized water changes and see if the problem doesn't take care of itself.
