Anyone like the look of algae on their driftwood? I think it looks more natural and pleasing to my eye. I found some black beard (I think) growing on my driftwood, im gonna see what I can do to make it grow more. I love the way blackbeard flows in the current, it reminds me of saltwater or a field of grass, very soothing.

i like the look too but my plecos take care of it before it grows

i love the look plus it's good for plecos .. i use to have a skull in my tank it grew hiar algae once it got about3 of 4 inch in lengh we gave him a kicking mohawk it looked really cool

I like the green, but not the brown algae. The green algae makes the wood look more natural.

I thought it looked nice until it started to take over my whole tank, heaters, tubing, suction cups, intakes, outlets ect... keep it under control.

How did u get your piece of wood to grow algae on it? Whenever i have an algae problem it looks nasty. But yours looks nice...

I have a couple of pieces of driftwood in my turtle tank and i got a good growth of algae on one of my bigger pieces I love the look. It grows under the heat lamp the best.
