My tank was setup in half to house my 2 future Betta breeders but then I found these 2 flowerhorns for free. My largest tank is tank by my 2 other flowerhorns that I'm selling. Once I get rid of the large FHs these 2 will go in there. Any ways. Just to be safe I drained the tank for the free fh but betts in gallon tanks and put water from my fh tank and my other setup tank. The tank is bare and I can see some waste on the bottom like little speckles but on the sides looks like whit jar algae. It looks like white stringy things on the glass. Is this harmful to fish. I look a tank magnet a scrubbed it off but still some is in there. How do I get rid of it?

If you are planning on breeding betta's, algae is not a bad thing, the fry will graze on it.
I let algae grow in all my fry tanks, I only scrape off the front enough to see inside.

Algae wont harm fish... Copepods and other microscopic invertebrates will live in the algae and provide food for your fish.

if you really wanted to get rid of hard algae razor blade it. however some people think uv sterilizers will help keep you from getting it after you scrape it. never ran one so i dont know
