I just set up a 180 gallon tank kind of near a glass door that leads to the outside. In the evening it gets direct sunlight on the tank for about an hour and I've noticed an algae problem. Is there any safe solutions for controling the algae growth in an aquarium? Do they really work?

Royal pleco will clean it up, also try some golden alge eaters they are small but do very well

A royal pleco would be ok, but if you have acrylic it can mess up the inside pretty bad once they get to a certain size. If you don't have any large carnivores a gang of otos will work well.

I have had much luck with Ancesteral Bristlenose Plecos...... sorry if I spelled wrong... I got brain of a Crack Baby :hitting:

I just got rid of two great big common plecos today. They couldn't control it. Isn't there something I can squirt into the tank?

I had the same problem with my tank, it was near a window and I could not control the algae no matter what I did. I used Algae remover, plecos and snails and still couldn't control it. I had to eventually move the tank into my bedroom where it got no sun at all. I haven't had a problem with algae since I moved it.
Good luck to you. I know how hard it is to move such large tanks but in the end that is probably what you will have to do.

Algae Fix Worked wonders for me... never even hurt my Plants one bit...... but I prefer not to add any type of liquids to my tanks

i have the same prob i just scrub once a week at the same time as warter change
more graft but no chemicals
