Algae problem

For the last year my 55 in my bedroom has had sme insane green algae problems, i scrub the tank and 3-5 days later i cant see the back pane of glass its all green. What do you guys suggest i do because im getting sick of this. And it will be even more of a pain when my trimacs start to breed in it...

Is the tank getting any sunlight from a nearby window?

Shorten light time and make sure you are not getting a bunch of daylight also. Or buy a bristlenose Plaeco they only grow to be about six inches..

I have nothing in the tank as of now because it needed to be scrubbed and didnt feel like it and it does get direct sunlight when the dark blue thermal curtains are open which is seldom. Do UV sterilizers work to fix this? I do a 25% and 40% water change every week but i have not tested any of my tanks waters in a while

It will soon have breeding trimacs so this is not possible
