Hello, I have been having problems with algae in my tank. I have brown slime algae on the walls of my tank. I am going to try to get some more snails this weekend as all of mine have died because they are astreas and they flip over easy and die. It appears in my tank every week I am tired of wiping off the algae from week to week. What is the best way to control the algae other than turning off the lights as I have photosynthetic corals?
Thanks
~Sean

Get a UV light it hooks up to your output and kills the algae in your water it'll help reduce the spread

Get LEDs. I had the same problem. With my power compacts. When the bulb dies it makes a spectrum that algea can grow in. Also tons if flow = no dead spits for algea to grow. Piwerheads are your fruend

Well I have LEDs and a powerhead and I am still getting a lot of algae. I have done a lot of research on UV sterilizer and I have found that they are expensive and I am strapped for cash. Do you know of a UV sterilizer that is submergible and cheap? Any other ideas?
Thanks
~Sean

I have a 29 gallon tank and I have 1 mp10 powerhead set to half power long pulse mode. should I set my powerhead to a higher power or just a completely different setting?
